January Julep Maven Unboxing 2015

Hello Hello :)
Happy New Year! Cannot believe another year has passed so quickly, I feel like it was just yesterday that I was sitting on my sofa watching Tosh.0 with my friend and ringing in the year 2014 haha (My life is THAT exciting guys). As the New Year comes, it brings along with it new boxes! As I was having a lovely Christmas Eve with my family on January 6th (I'm Orthodox) I got an email that my Julep box had arrived, what great timing. I have to say this box blew me away I was quite surprised by the contents. Some of you are probably familiar with how Julep works but for those of you that are not, it is a monthly subscription that focuses mostly on nail polish and the odd makeup items. Basically you fill out a survey on their website which categorizes you into 1 of 5 "styles" those being: Bombshell, Cassic With a Twist, It Girl, Modern Beauty and last but not least the style I got, Boho Glam. Each month they choose a few different items to go into each style but don't worry if you do not like the items for that month that are designated for your style, you are allowed to switch into any style if you are not satisfied. This month however I totally forgot to check what I was getting thus why it was such a surprise for me. So to stop my rambling I will finally show you what I received!

This month's box is titled "The Chrysalis Collection" I have a feeling Elsa would love this box!

The first item and the only nail polish I received this month was in a greenish/blueish hue called "Casey" and I absolutely love it! I have not had the chance to wear it yet as I did my nails using my at home Sally Hanson gel kit a couple days prior and that polish tends to last me a week or so. Nevertheless I am super excited to try it out because it looks beautiful! I have swatched the colour for you below so you can see what it looks like :). This product costs $14.00 for non-members and $11.20 for Maven's.

The second item I received was a gel eye glider in the hue "Olive". Although I am not the biggest fan of green make-up I actually like this colour because it it not one of those dramatic bright greens. This eye liner is very easy to apply and goes on very smoothly unlike some eye liners that have a very hard consistency. This product costs $16.00 for non-members and $12.80 for Maven's.

The last item I received was a lip gloss that is supposed to condition your lips in the hue "Sheer Coral".  I absolutely love anything pink so of course I love this product and I love that the applicator tip is made of metal so when I apply it, it gives me a cold sensation :). This product costs $24.00 for non-members and $19.20 for Maven's.

That's it for this month, I also received a mini box of junior mints but I gave those to my dad because he loves mint chocolates :). Stay tuned for more fun posts, and if you want to join Julep and become a Maven click on the link below! Also if you purchase over $15 worth of products on Julep.com use the code "COLORFUN" to receive a free polish before January 31st. I will leave you with this cute quote I received in my box "We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all of the power inside ourselves."-J.K. Rowling

December Topbox Unboxing 2014

Hello :)
today I will be showing you what I received in my December Topbox.  I used to do unboxing videos but I found that I couldn't find the time to create and edit them with school and work so I figured blogging about it might be easier! This months box wasn't that impressive to me compared to the other boxes we have received and I found that for a box that comes during the Christmas season it could have been a bit better but they can't all be winners I suppose, read on to see what I received this month!

Here is an image containing all 4 products that I received this month.

The first product on the list is a natural mineral eyeshadow by Marsk in the colour "seaspray". This was definitely not one of my favourite products as the colour really does not suit me. I have swatched it for you below to show you the full effect of the eyeshadow. I don't generally wear green eye shadow, but I will give it a try and maybe try mixing some brown hues and blending it. This is a full size product and it retails at $22.50. You can purchase this online at www.marskcosmetics.com.

The second product on the list is a nail polish by Kinetics in the colour "Up the Rocks". I again was not a big fan of this product as the colour was not my all time favourite. I have swatched the colour for you below, but I will say that the picture is making it look nicer than it actually is. I have received a black and white speckled nail polish from Kinetics before and I loved it but this one was a bit of a disappointment. Hopefully I can find a new home for this lonely polish :P. This was also a full size product and it retails at $12. You can purchase this polish online at www.kineticsnails.com.

The third product on the list is four mini packet samples of Eslor skin care products. This packet came with a sample of each of their new products that are a part of their "Hydrate, Protect, Treat" line. The products I received are: Soothing Refiner and Cleanser, Botanical Peeling Gel, Chlorophyll Lifting Mask, and last but not least a Firming Collagen Day Cream. These were probably my favourite items that I received in this months box. I love when I get new skin care products to sample because I am always looking for new natural products to use on my face. The great benefit of these samples is that they use aloe vera (one of my favourite ingredients) and they are paraben free. I have tried 3 out of the 4 products and I love them all so far. They left my face feeling fresh and smooth. The only one I haven't tried yet is the lifting mask and I am keeping that for before New Years to renew my face before I head out to celebrate the New Year :))). These were 5mL samples, the full sized products retail as follows:
-Soothing Refiner and Cleanser 60mL $28.00 USD
-Botanical Peeling Gel 60mL $38.00 USD
-Chlorophyll Lifting Mask 50mL $38.00 USD
-Firming Collagen Day Cream 50mL $85.00 USD
If you wish to purchase any of these products (or more) head on over to www.eslor.com.

And finally the last product on the list is  the Argan Dry Body Oil by Barefoot Venus in the scent "sugar leaf". I liked this product quite a lot. The scent is to die for and I love anything that contains argan oil. This is a great little sample bottle that I can carry in my purse wherever I go. I have noticed that we have received a lot of Barefoot Venus products within the past year, and so far I have enjoyed all of their products, they all smell great and work pretty well. I received a 8mL sample bottle, the full bottle (140mL) retails at $15.99. To purchase this product and other great products head over to www.barefootvenus.com and if you purchase anything over $30 before January 31st, 2015 you can use the code "BFVSAVE10" to receive $10 off your purchase!

In total this box is worth $53.20 which pays well over the cost of the box. Although I was not completely happy with all the items I received this month, I still love having the surprise of opening these boxes and seeing what I have gotten. Hope you enjoyed this months unboxing, cannot wait to see what's in store for us in the New Year :)) Happy Holidays everyone!
